US President Donald Trump mocked state governors as Weak during a phone call. He asked them to crack down on violent protesters taking to the streets in cities across the country. The harsh words of President Trump came on Monday during a video teleconference between himself, state governors, law enforcement, and national security officials. Various cities across the US have experienced mostly peaceful, but sometimes violent protests in the last 6-days after the death of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police officer. Trump said, “Most of you are weak. You have to arrest people”. He stressed state governors should look like Jerks if they didn’t get a handle on their cities.

President said, “You have to dominate if you don’t dominate you’re wasting your time. They’re going to run over you, you’re going to look like a bunch of jerks. You have to dominate”. He has focused on law and order to handle protesters during recent days, including deploying the National Guard. On Monday, he informed local officials they must get tougher in managing the protests. They must track people and put them in jail for 10-years, so you will never see this stuff again. He said, “We’re doing it in Washington, DC. We’re going to do something that people haven’t seen before”. Point to be noted that Washington DC also experienced trouble with protesters as multiple buildings were set on fire across the district over the last couple of evenings and people surrounded the White House.

It is noteworthy that the New York Times report confirmed Trump was taken into an underground bunker on Friday evening by Secret Service agents. Minneapolis was a target of the president’s fury after demonstrators were left largely on their own on Thursday evening. They burned the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd precinct. The city then employed strict action against the demonstrations. Trump said, “What happened in the state of Minnesota. They were a laughing stock all over the world. I’ve never seen anything like it, and the whole world was laughing”. President also admired Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Defense Secretary Mark Esper for getting control of the situation.
