US President Donald Trump earlier warned that he will mobilize all available federal civilian and military resourced to stop the rioting and looting after the death of George Floyd by police officers. Now, the former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic set his Facebook to private and deleted Twitter after he admired Donald Trump’s law and order speech caused a mixture of uproar and disappointment among fans and fellow musicians. Novoselic also agreed that President Trump shouldn’t be sending troops into the states, but his tone was strong and direct. He wrote on Facebook, “Wow!!! I know many of you can’t stand him, however, Trump knocked it out of the park with this speech”.

He added, “I have been watching the images in the media and thinking about how polarized our country is. I mean, even wearing medical masks in public can be seen as a political statement! The violence and not the protests appear as a leftist insurrection. Most Americans want peace in their communities and President Trump spoke to this desire. Never mind the legal details that few understand – Trump said he would stop the violence and this speaks to many”. Novoselic set his Facebook profile to private, where the message was originally posted. Fans were quick to criticize Novoselic’s take, in spite of him having been a supporter of the peaceful protests and Black Lives Matter.

On Tuesday, President tweeted, “Yesterday was a bad day for the Cuomo Brothers. New York was lost to the looters, thugs, Radical Left, and all other forms of Lowlife & Scum. The Governor refuses to accept my offer of a dominating National Guard. NYC was ripped to pieces. Likewise, Fredo’s ratings are down 50%”! President Trump was referring to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and CNN anchor Chris Cuomo. New York City has experienced peaceful protests for multiple days in a row. Some of those at the protests have later turned violent and looting has taken place across the city. A curfew was ordered in New York City from 11 pm to 5 am on Monday. But, the curfew will start on Tuesday at 8 pm and continue every night until Monday 8 June 2020.
