It has been confirmed that Guatemala will change the place of its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The re-position will take place just 2 days after the United States will make the similar disputed move to harmonize with the Israel creation anniversary. On Sunday, the President of Guatemala, Jimmy Morales said at a Washington conference that he would like to thank President Donald Trump for leading the way. The courageous decision of Trump has motivated him to do what is right. He said that the current decision strongly shows a continuous support of Guatemala for the solidarity of the people of Israel. The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu met Morales at the conference. He thanked Morales for his decision in recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Jerusalem is Capital of Israel

Point to be noted that the people of Palestine have shown their anger against the decision of Donald Trump. The decision of Trump in changing the status of the disputed city allegedly went against the desire of Arab leaders. They are looking Jerusalem to be the capital of Palestinian state in the future. They also criticized the timing of this move and said that the protests of Palestinian people were also ignored. They predicted that the independence celebration of Israel might be a disaster for Palestinians. Now, Nicaragua has become the first country after the United States mentioning the date for reposition its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It is important that Jerusalem hosts the holy sites for Muslims, Christians, and Jews. The international consensus indicates that the status of Jerusalem should be decided only through negotiations.
