A large number of Los Angeles residents have showed their anger over a sweeping travel ban by the U.S President Donald Trump. A protest against the executive order of Trump took place on 29th January 2017 at the Los Angeles International Airport. The demonstrators said that they are still unable to find that how many people were being held by the immigration agents. The protesters at LA airport chanted and sang patriotic songs at both inside and outside the Tom Bradley International Terminal. The executive director for CHIRLA (the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles) Angelica Salas said that advocates have successfully petitioned for a court order in order to return a 70 years old legally permanent resident, Ali Vayeghan. He was arrived at LAX airport, but deported.

Salas also said that she still don’t have the information about Vayeghan and about how many people were being held or deported by the U.S customs agents till 29th January 2017. Salas also confirmed that there were a number of immigration attorneys waiting at the terminal in order to provide aid to detained people affected by the Trump’s executive order. Thousands of peaceful but spirited protesters held signs across the streets such as “Obey the Stay” and “God is Love. No Ban”. Point to be noted that a small group of Trump supporters were separated from protesters by the police officers of Los Angeles in order to avoid collision. Salas held a court order, the court order indicated that “the Department of Homeland Security can’t bar Vayeghan for entering the United States and the Department should bring him back and issue reentry permission under his previously approved visa terms”.
