One of the Remaining Victims of Serial killer John Wayne Gacy Identified

An infamous serial killer John Wayne Gacy had died at least two decades ago, but there is a number of victims still convalescence one by one their names. The Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart also said on Wednesday that Byron Haakenson (Jimmie) has been confirmed as one of the 7 remaining unidentified victims buried in the worm space in the house of killer Gacy and it was due to advancements in DNA analysis. Haakenson ran away from his Minnesota home at the age 16 in 1976 and disappeared in Chicago and he was victim no. 24 of Gacy. Another victim, 19-years old William George Bundy was also identified in 2011 after continuous efforts by Dart to close the case in one of the darkest series of murders in the American history and it caused 33 boys and one young man dead.

The New York Times also mentioned that 25 victims were identified at the time of execution of Gacy in 1994 by lethal injection and the others remained as unidentified. Gacy was excelled by Ted Bundy and Garry Ridgway in various recently popular serial murders in the history of United States. Ted Bundy was allegedly involved in killing of at least 30 young girls and women. Ridgway was also famous as the “Green River Killer” and he was convicted 48 murders. The standard victim identification was Dental record analysis used in 1970s, but the records of Haakenson were not available due to some critical reasons. Dart restarted investigation and forwarded a request for saliva samples of close relatives of young men disappeared between 1970 and 1978.
