FDA is Investigating about claims regarding WEN Hair Care Cleansing Products

A large number of consumers have been claiming since 2010 that the usage of WEN brand hair care products of hairstylist Chaz Dean have caused critical conditions with their hair. Most of them indicated about losing hair at unexpectedly high level. At the end of 2015, at least 200 women from 40 different States had participated in presenting a lawsuit against Manufacturer Company. The U.S Food & Drug Administration (FDA) published a notice on 19th July 2016 and stated that they have investigated about “Contrary Event Reports” regarding hair loss, balding, hair breakage and rash linked to the use of WEN brand by Chaz Dean Cleansing products. The FDA indicated that WEN products provoked a large number of reports ever linked to any hair cleansing and cosmetic product.

The FDA received at least 127 complaints on 7th July 2016 directly from the consumers of WEN products by Chaz Dean Cleansing Conditioner, but the company also received more than 21,000 complaints of different levels from their consumers. FDA said that these reports have been considered the largest number of reports connected to any cosmetic cleansing product. The investigation team is also inspecting on 21 thousand complaints received by the company. The FDA hasn’t yet released any detail regarding their investigation regarding the causes and reports. But, the company mentioned that they are unable to find any scientific evidence regarding claim that their hair care products caused losing hair for anyone.
