Famous Musician John Geils Passed Away at the Age of 71

The founder of 1980s well known new wave group the J. Geils Band, Guitarist John Geils has passed away at the age of 71. Police in Groton, Massachusetts announced on 11th April 2017 that Geils was found dead in his home due to natural causes. The Chief of Police department said that police officers responded to a call in the late afternoon and found body in his home. Chief further indicated that police officers discovered an unresponsive man when they arrived to the house and declared him dead. The investigation has been initiated, but still unable to find any kind of supposed foul play. Geils was born in the New York City and he was interested in music from a young age.

He was interested listening music in his childhood and his favorite artists include Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. He joined Miles Davis tunes on drums and trumpet. He also played trumpet at the Northern University. He became famous in the folk scene in Boston. He left Northern University and joined Worcester Polytechnic University and formed J. Geils Band. Other band members include Stephen Jo Bladd, Salwitz, Seth Justman and Peter Wolf. In 1970, the group introduced as a R&B motivated Blues Rock Group. They presented various famous songs including “Cry One More Time, Lookin for a Love, Must Of Got Lost” and their major hit song “Give It To Me”. The Band broke up in 1985 and Geils took an interval from music. He returned back after 7 years with a new band “Bluestime”. He played Jazz in 2005 and released 2 jazz-based albums in 2006 and 2009.
