The Fox News cable lined up an article on 6th September 2016 with a headline “Calif. University Latest to Establish Black-Only Housing”, predominantly collected from another publication named “The College Fix”. This article attributed subjected student housing at CSULA (California State University at Los Angeles). It is a campus introduced the Halisi Scholars Black Living-Learning Community in Fall 2016. The website of CSULA mentioned that the community was not technically restricted or excluded by being special to Black students. Considerably it has been bound for open housing to any student no matter related to the Black community. The communication director at CSULA Robert Lopez said that he has forwarded specific statements to the Los Angeles Times and the College Fix about the related objective.

The Times also printed his complete statement and the College Fix excluded a part of the statement in which he pointed out that all the CSULA students can apply for housing in the community. He added that College Fix selected to run with the allegation that the housing was restricted or excluded, but if it is true, then it would violate to the federal state law. Supposed subjected housing or student communities focused on specific cultural identity, but it is not new to college campuses. The rumor regarding restricted housing at CSULA was initiated on 25th August 2016 and this story was published by the Young American Foundation. But, website of the University mentioned that the Halisi community should not be considered the only subjected housing at the public university. The CSULA has offered Gender Neutral Inclusive Housing and housing for 1st year students.
