Britain Business Interest in Iraq

Iraq Britain BusinessIt is quite obvious that Iraq Dinar is making progress in all fields. Its neighboring countries and multinational companies are very much interested in making investments in Iraq. After the restoration of democracy in Iraq in 2006, initial years were really struggling due to the law and order situations. Now things are within grasps as compared to the last years. UN forces have departed from Iraq. Oil reserves are being explored by the foreign companies and existing oil wells, and refineries have started.

United Kingdom is one of those countries who have signed some business agreements with Iraq in different sectors. Air routes have been restored after 23 years and flights have started operations between Baghdad and London.

Iraq Britain Business Council IBBC is moving forward, and one new office has been inaugurated in Erbil. IBBC has another office in Basra as well. At the opening ceremony of IBBC`s Erbil office many senior officials and diplomats participated.  The office is situated in UB holding at UB plaza. An office manager will be hired in the next week to run the operations.

Baroness Nicholson appreciated the current growth pace of KRG region. She declared that opening of the new IBBC office in Erbil was a historical moment for IBBC. Moreover, she said that those offices would provide UK with a solid platform to exploit rich business opportunities in Iraq.

The previous IBBC office in Basra is providing services for receptions, delegations and press conferences. UK Trade Minister Lord Green visited Iraq early this year, and Basra office was used at that time.  IBBC employee Ahmed Hobi is running the office.
