An African Elephant Died in a Big Water Tank

A website ‘The Onion’ published an article on 20^th August 2015 with a title ‘New SeaWorld Show Just Elephant Drowning in Large Tank of Water’ but without further explanation. A Facebook user also updated a post adding a picture of a new attraction at Sea World. A large number of users shared this post in which a big elephant drown into a water tank and most of the viewers watched this picture, but we are sure that this can’t be true. This picture was referencing marine park Sea World’s provocative reputation among the lovers of animals. It is confirmed that this picture appeared on the park’s schedule without any kind of explanations. Most of the visitors reported that this picture related to the park’s latest theme to attract people showing a big elephant drowning in a huge water tank, but they didn’t mention any kind of explanation.

We have found that most of the social media websites declared it as false news and most of the fake news websites published this news to attract online visitors. The website The Onion is also considered as one of the many websites publishing fake news on the internet. The original news was also showing that an adult African big elephant was swimming in a water tank of an auditorium, where this elephant went down into a 38 feet deep aquarium. As we all know elephants can swim very well in water and showing elephant was swimming by its trainers.
